SPARK offers One-to-One educational support in all core curriculum subjects at all levels for students with a wide range of educational needs including students who are presently excluded, or at risk of exclusion from mainstream schools, those who are sick in hospital or at home; those students too anxious or ill to attend school; students awaiting placement in a special school, students new to Reading area and awaiting new placement in a mainstream school. We believe with the right
One-to-One educational support all young people can meet their full potential.
Most of our students are those whose main special needs and barrier to learning are Emotional, Behavioural and Social disorders (EBSD). The SPARK centre is a
One-to-One academic boosting facility for learners whose main Special Education Needs
or Disabilities (SEND) and barrier to learning are Emotional, Behavioural and Social Disorders (EBSD), young people with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD) or Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) who at risk of academic failure and early withdrawal from school as they may be struggling in mainstream school.
We provide these support services at the students' school or at home or at our centre. Our centre provides young people with state-of-the-art equipment and innovative learning opportunities and an exciting creative learning environment.
We also provides a one-to-one (or small groups) support service for students who have fallen behind within mainstream schools.
Inclusion / Exclusion Consultancy and Management Support
There are occasions when schools are in need of additional support, for whatever reasons, and may be unable to manage their Inclusion Policy to resolve inclusion/exclusion issues, and would benefit from the services of an independent specialist Inclusions consultancy and management team.
SPARK offers a full range of Education Services including:
Consultancy and management of all Inclusion/Exclusion matters including one-to-one tutoring (in school) support either in school, at home or at our centre in London Street, in Reading town centre.
Further, we are able to offer Confidential Independent case assessments and advice for school Governors and Senior Management Teams, and Local Authorities. We negotiate re-integration action plans, in cases of exclusions, with schools and parents and prepare written reports for alternative education provision for exclusions. Call us for a chat - we offer more than you expect! At SPARK it is our aim to offer schools, directly, the possibility of a short-term safety net with a long term strategy for assisting NEETs* and young people nearing permanent exclusion.
We also provide monitored education programmes for on-going exclusions on one-to-one or small groups tutoring. SPARK is also able to accommodate and provide Specialist qualified Teaching cover to schools, either on-site or at the Learning Centre where we have learning resources for core- subjects for years 6 to 11 and beyond for SEND.
Our `Schooling Re-integration` programmes combine social and academic approaches as a way of `adjusting ` students` behaviour to increase learning participation in lessons and enhance personal social development. We view re-integration into mainstream learning as a medium to long term process, which includes continuous monitoring and assessment.
